THE WIND-UP BIRD - THE WIND-UP BIRD (2002)

Do you know Jeromes Dream? They were an important screamo group in the early '90s - late '00s. Among the music, they are remembered becouse their leader Jeff Smith sung without microphone. This made him stop singing and in 2002 he founded The Wind-up Bird with another guy, a violinist or so (who I believe does the most in tthe project). Probably nobody would bet a coin on a screamo guy who turned ambient, right? But here we have one of the best ambient albums I've ever listened to. A mind blowing experience. And most important, this isn't the boring '10s ambient, there aren't only synths and keys, we have a massive range of instruments and, most of all, inspired pieces.

ELLERY JAMES ROBERTS - KEROU'S LAMENT (2013)

After Wu Lyf split (does even somebody remember them?) the singer -he has a fantastic voice, believe me- begun writing tunes. This is his first one. I'm in serious trouble tagging this one, really.

IT'S A SINGLE SONG SO GIVE IT A TRY.

Vic non camminava e non poteva suonare granchè la chitarra a causa di un incidente. Era molto triste, tanto da porre fine alla sua esistenza. La vita è stata avara con lui. Ma ha potuto comporre poesie.

It's difficult to say if Vic loved his life too much. Surely he appreciated words.

He's not here anymore. But he left some sad, beautiful, meaningful recordings.

KING CRIMSON - STARLESS AND BIBLE BLACK (1974)

 

Album non molto conosciuto nella discografia dei King Crimson, ma che è di una qualità eccelsa in ogni suo solco. Post Rock, nel 74.

In 1974, post rockers existed, and their name was KC.

Superb line-up, superb tracks, superb album.

One of those you are pleased to learn by heart.

Compositore elettronico che usa i power electronics col senno di uno che compone per violini... non scherzo, è diplomato. Praticamente classica noise. Spero di avervi incuriosito.

Classic composer bends to noise, with great passion and

of what he's doing. The tracks are very easy to listen to, don't look at the stupid tags.

CARISSA'S WIERD - SONGS ABOUT LEAVING (2002)

Semplicemente l'essenza dello slowcore. Quello che non punta sulla tristezza delle cose spoglie e povere (Codeine) ma sulla tristezza delle cose piccole e sole. Semplicemente sublime. Cantato a due sessi (scuola Low) e pezzi da avere e da lacrimare in silenzio.

Just slowcore's quintessence. Great tunes, very sad vocals. Perfect album.

Vi voglio bene. Questa gente qui faceva psychmetalgaze ubereffettato nel 1969, con affoghi di distorsioni, un violino e pezzi spaccamascellamente distruttivi. Poi non dite che non vi voglio bene.

Don't tell me about Black Sabbath. THIS is 60's metal, and fuckyou.
